To think boss should say hello?

My boss has been away for 3 weeks.

His office is right next door to ours.

We were in 1hr earlier then him.

He's our direct line manager.

We have been in the office the entire time.

AIBU to think he should have at least popped his head in to say "Morning"? Confused

Did he walk past to get to his office?

Well yes, it would have been polite but I imagine being off for three weeks but they have quite a lot to catch up on and have just dived into their work?

NormaSmuff · 09/01/2017 09:19

3 weeks worth of emails?

NormaSmuff · 09/01/2017 09:19

go and say hello to him?

NormaSmuff · 09/01/2017 09:20

ask him what he got for christmas Wink

VintagePerfumista · 09/01/2017 09:21

Perhaps he's sending you all emails about MNing while at work?

00100001 · 09/01/2017 09:22

Maybe he's writing his "Binary, you're fired for being on MN" talk Grin

Maybe he didn't want to get held up chatting for ages?

I mean, it would be polite to say hello, but it's not really the end of the world if he doesn't.

My manager is like this and it really irritates me. She walks in with a face like thunder and ignores everyone. It takes her about an hour to come around before she speaks to anyone!

Likewise she just leaves without saying goodbye at the end of the day!

I think as a manager you should make an effort with your team/staff and at least have the courtesy to say hello especially after being away for a few weeks!

My manager will go days without talking to us if left to his own devices.

I do pop in and say hello, in fact just have done that.
