Posting for traffic (this is not stealth bragging at the top! Just context!)
I'm EBF DS who is 15 weeks. Before I had the baby, I had a v rigid diet - whole foods, 1500 cals a day (usually less), no wheat .... Too much wine!!! And exercised every day - running, gym, dance etc. And was a muscular/ pretty slight size 8/10. Friends say in hindsight I was about two Ryvita away from an ED - but that's neither here nor there now.
Exercised gradually more gently through PG and eased up on the diet a lot ... Since DS was born, done no exercise and eaten like its the last days of Rome. (Cake. Twice a day. White bread toast with butter. Mounds of pasta.... Oh it's been lovely)
But I've put on more weight in the 15 weeks pp than I did during my first two trimesters!!!
and it's starting to make me unhappy and feel quite leaden/ low energy etc I think. So for the last week, I've adapted my pre pregnancy diet - and wondered if the example day below feels balanced enough for BFing ?? Can anyone give any tips/ steers if not?
Breakfast - 2 slices wholegrain wheat free toast with almond butter, fresh raspberries and orange juice
Midmorning snack - dried fruit bar, corn thins or nuts
Lunch - leftovers from dinner - wheat free pasta, pesto, roast veg, Parmesan.
Snack - Hot chocolate, or couple squares dark chocolate. nuts or piece of cheese/ crispbread.
Dinner - grilled chicken, huge salad, flatbread, pickled vegetables, and glass of red wine.
Possible extra tablespoon almond butter/ handful dried fruit before bed.
Does this seem balanced? Obviously water as well - and I don't restrict amounts of lean protein, fruit or veg.
(Ive worked out exercise regime already and start again next week- I know that will make a huge difference too. Aiming for first PP half marathon in the autumn)
