Put bubble mixture in a bowl then stick the pink bit in bowl, take out and press trigger. If you want one that you put bubble mixture in you need one of the more expensive battery ones, the bubble guns in my experience just blow air through

Thanks, that seems to work. We spent ages trying to work out where the mixture went in. The fact that it doesn't explains a lot!
