for falling into the Christmas trap AGAIN.

my upbringing was rubbish and Christmas was particularly unpleasant. For years I have fought against this and tried to do a decent job.

Yet again I now feel tired, broke,fat and wondering what the point of it is.

Oh sweetheart. I am not very good at advice but please try and be kind to yourself. Focus on self care and try to only do what makes you happy for the next few days. See friends or hibernate - whatever feels right. You deserve to take it easy on yourself x

We live and learn. Don't beat yourself up. Treat yourself if only for half an hour at some point and move on. It's one day.

I mostly do Christmas for my dc. I hate the excess of it.

I am exactly the same :)
I overspend and every year I promise my partner I won't go mad and I do.
I run around and cook and clean for loads.... super martyr. Desperate for the perfect Christmas as my parents were awful.
I m seriously ill as well and should be resting and never do.
No helping some people..... sending empathetic hugs

long ago abandoned any idea of perfection....but bog standard seems to kill me
