I bought my 3 youngest a laptop for Christmas and the youngest's doesn't type at all Angry
She's being very gracious about it but I feel dreadful.
Worse bit is I bought it early November so it will probably have to be sent way to be repaired. So much for being organised !

I had that happen (the keyboard being "ignored" by the screen) the solution was to turn it off and on again. It is a weirdly effective action!

Hellmouth · 25/12/2016 12:14

Does the mouse work? Maybe it needs a software update, if switching it off and on doesn't work.

buddhasbelly · 25/12/2016 12:14

What make is it twofloors?

OnionKnight · 25/12/2016 12:16

What is the make and model?

Redcrayons · 25/12/2016 12:20

You've probably disabled the keyboard by mistake rather than it's broken.

I did the same with the wifi on a laptop

How this hasn't kicked off a Christmas tantrum.

Redcrayons · 25/12/2016 12:20

*Hope

She's being very gracious about it

twofloorsup, your daughter's behaviour is testament to good parenting.

Hats off to you!

I once got a laptop and the charger wasn't in the box they did not give us a new one so had to buy a new charger

VeryBitchyRestingFace · 25/12/2016 12:37

I read the OP as you having bought your 3 year old a laptop that didn't work and her being very gracious about it.

Was very impressed by the idea of a gracious 3 year old. Xmas Grin

Hope you get it working.

I understand OP

Had my son a custom made computer built and it is evidentally missing the hardware required to connect online ! Should have checked but was a gift not from me and DH and also had no secure internet till Friday so thought it was a dongle problem at the time.

Bless your DD being gracious about it .

twofloorsup · 25/12/2016 22:49

Sorry didn't realise I had replies !
It's an asus not sure of the model off hand. My eldest son has rebooted the whole thing and done everything he knows to make it work but no joy.
Currys first thing it is !
