Look, one of the more common female fantasies is to find a ruff tuff macho badboy who's also a softie at heart and good with kids. But there's no such thing.
So isn't it very, very, naughty of Philp Thingy out of Life On Mars to be showcasing his softie side by reading the bedtimes stories on CBeebies this weeK? Just when LIfe On Mars is back?

AIBU to think that he is, in fact , so naughty for doing this that he needs to be severely punished and therefore should show up at my house at his earliest convenicence...?

not unreasonable at all. When you've finished with him......

InTheseShoes · 19/02/2007 20:30

So glad to read this, as on Friday my sister wet herself laughing when I asked her if it was wrong to fancy him, or was it my pregnancy hormones...

It's Phillip Glenister btw...

pollyanna · 19/02/2007 20:31

I watched John Simm do the bedtime story on my own when he did it - the dcs were all in bed

motherinferior · 19/02/2007 20:33

It was Captain Jack who did it for me. Polymorphous perversity or wot. I even started a MN thread about it.

Aloha · 19/02/2007 20:34

I wouldn't think he'd be much use to anyone once madamez has finished with him

madamez · 19/02/2007 20:57

Hey, I'm the non-monogamous one. I don't mind sharing. But I get first go.

I have a massive crush on Philip Glenister...

MrsPhilipGlenister · 22/02/2007 10:32

So much so, I've changed my name .

dueat44 · 22/02/2007 19:43

He was extra good in 'Persuasion'- Mr darcy breeches ...

dionnelorraine · 26/02/2007 11:29

Hi. Going back to the original message. There is such thing. My dh is a 'macho' man and I feel safe with him when we are out and yet he is decent and doesnt swear in front of children and old people and he is a rbig softy and a fantastic father!! So, I know they are rare but they do exsist! (lucky me)

charlieq · 26/02/2007 11:40

I fancy Philip even more now he has shown his softer/thespy side...
I particularly liked his poncy artist accent
he can do no wrong in my book

Emmymummy · 26/02/2007 12:35

oooo ooooo! When we arrived on holiday last year, Philip Glenister and family were checking in next to me! So I can truthfully say I've been on holiday with him (and his wife and 2 kids)...

itsmeNDaveP · 26/02/2007 12:39

He is minging

Emmymummy · 26/02/2007 12:48

I never said I fancied him by the way. Bit too scruffy and aloof for my liking. Was just trying to make you

charlieq · 26/02/2007 13:02

emmy was he aloof in person?

Tutter · 26/02/2007 13:03

me too emmymummy - were you at bedruthan steps by any chance?

bettys · 26/02/2007 13:13

His dd goes to our school so we often see him in the playground.
He is phwoar in RL .

Emmymummy · 26/02/2007 13:15

Tutter - yes I was!
Charlie - I just meant aloof in that he just kept himself to himself, whereas all the other parents were kind of smiling & chatting with each other. You can't blame him though, I did notice a few people staring and nudging each other when he went past which is a bit sad as he was just having a nice family holiday like the rest of us.

Tutter · 26/02/2007 13:17

ah

i saw him wandering throught the hotel with a bottle of wine in hand on more than one occasion

bettys - i used to see his wife and dds a lot - east sheen perchance?

(am not a stalker of the family, honest!)

bettys · 26/02/2007 13:19

Yes - have also spotted him in Richmond M&S & Kew Retail Park with youngest dd. Prob thinks I'm stalking him! Guess he & his wife do childcare in turns depending on whose working.

Emmymummy · 26/02/2007 13:21

Yes, he always seemed to have booze of some description at hand. Also made me giggle really as most people made a bit of an effort to dress up in the evenings, but he always seemed to be wearing the same untucked rumpled blue shirt. (also not a stalker, but you do tend to notice these things).

Tutter · 26/02/2007 13:24

ah - never saw them in the evenings

you - and they- must have been in the upstairs restaurant

we must have been even scruffier as we had a atbel downstairs

Themis · 26/02/2007 13:32

Philip Glenister - bedtome story CBBC - repeat of him reading the story that he read last year when Life on Mars was on !

I got all excited when I saw him come on and then realised it was a repeat !

Oh what a sad life I lead !

No doubt John Simms will be on ( again) soon [ smile]

Emmymummy · 26/02/2007 13:49

Tutter - yes we were upstairs. Did they put all the naughty children downstairs then?. We're going again this year, so will see if we've ben relegated to downstairs dining!

Tutter · 30/04/2007 13:48

bump for dino (part 1)
