To move our "Christmas Eve" hamper forward?

DH works 5-6 days a week, school hols, etc. He gets about an hour and a half total with the kids-if that- on a normal day, and they're the "mad hours", ie, getting ready for school, bedtime, etc, so no time just to really chill.

We therefore look forward to him breaking up from work for Christmas for weeks beforehand. He's off for almost a fortnight this time.

(sort this is long)

We have a Christmas Eve hamper (lame, I know!) with a DVD, bubble bath, all the usual stuff. WIBU to change the tradition of the hamper to a "Christmas Starts Here" hamper- ie, when DH finishes work and the holidays can really start? We usually have family over on Christmas Eve, and we do the whole carrot/mince pie left out etc- so there will still be something to look forward to.

I hope this lot makes sense...

Yes, why not. Nice thing to do to singinfy the start of some family time together.

Yes, go for it - starting the holidays is exciting too. Have a new tradition for it and enjoy.

Why is this even an AIBU?Confused

Of course you can make your own traditions, you don't have to do the same as everyone else

harderandharder2breathe · 20/12/2016 17:17

"Everyone else" being those who do Christmas Eve hampers, many people don't bother at all so do it your way

OSETmum · 20/12/2016 17:19

Why not?!
