To warn about Asda Christmas delivery slots?

Ok so it's my first time doing an Asda Christmas delivery but after ordering from Asda dozens of times I thought I was quite savvy. Booked my Christmas delivery slot as soon as they became available. Delivery due the 23rd. Plan was to update order this week now I have a better idea of numbers for Christmas dinner and what I need. I went to update my order and its friggin not there anymore!

I phoned customer services (which is always a headache in itself) and response was "if you amend your order then you risk losing your deliver slot". All well and good and I'd risk it if only I was allowed to amend but the bloody system won't allow me.

I've asked for someone to contact me to advise why I wasn't advised that Asda had decided to change the rules - I was advised that someone "might" contact me.

So I'm now left with £60 of flippin vodka arriving just in time for me to drown my sorrows.

If anyone is expecting to change their order this week, please check you can still do it - it's vodka or nothing for meSad

100% Agree with e1y1. I've used their online delivery for groceries on two occasions both times disastrous and involving ages on the phone.

Their online grocery site is just terrible. It lost the list, then randomly reinstated it and then my whole order froze in limbo when I was trying to pay so I wasn't sure if I'd paid or not.

I like Asda the shop and they're ok to order and collect clothing from but the groceries side of thing is a nightmare. Really sympathise Ripper.

Do your real shopping so it's ready, cancel the alcohol and book the now empty space? If it works like that? I don't order online so could be talking absolute rubbish

I'm just jealous of the £60 worth of vodka Grin

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 18/12/2016 16:33

I've amended my order multiple times (delivery 23rd and no issue) did so tonight again keep bloody forgetting stuff

PinkSwimGoggles · 18/12/2016 16:35

60£ of vodka is only about 4 bottles though.

ShowMePotatoSalad · 18/12/2016 16:41

OP are you absolutely sure it's not further down the list. It's ordered by date of order, not date of delivery.

Asda delivery is a joke. I had payment taken three weeks after delivery, leaving me short for Christmas. Contacted customer service and was only told that they reserve the right to take payment up to 6 months after deliver Hmm won't be using them again

Always used Asda, until one snowy Christmas the order just didn't come-phoned them, and 'the vans couldn't get out of the depot'. Didn't bother to tell me though! Luckily it was a couple of days before Christmas, so I managed to go out and buy the stuff in store.
Now I use Sainsbury-no problems.

I'd never trust Asda again. They cancelled my shop on the 23rd a couple of years back because my card was 'declined'. I only found out once the shop hadn't turned up. Turned out it was their fault anyway because all cards from a certain bank were being declined at their tills. The godawful customer service rep unhelpfully asked if I wanted to reschedule for the 27th Dec.

That was a bloody stressful xmas.

I've been mostly lucky with Asda generally (frantically knocks on wood) but when things have gone wrong they've been absolutely awful at fixing them (took me a month to get a refund for something that didn't turn up, repeatedly calling them and being assured it was being done when it wasn't).

I work for Asda, on the customer service desk in a store ... I hate having to call the call centres as half the time they ignore what I say and treat me like a customer with no idea of our policies and systems even though I tell them up front I am X calling from Y store customer service desk!

If you have issues with your order, I would definitely suggest that instead of phoning the central call centre, call your actual Asda store that your delivery comes from and ask to be put through to their Home Shopping department because they will be the ones actually in charge of your order and if there is anything that can be done to sort it, they should be able to sort it directly for you, unlike the call centre who don't always have all the specific information tht the stores have.

I never use Asda for home shopping now, their customer service is awful, I use Morrisons or Ocado great service from both
