TO EXPECT CHILDREN NOT TO HAVE TO EAT FOR 40 MINS AT A PUPPET SHOW?

Took dd2 (age almost 5) to a puppet show about Chinese New Year this afternoon. It was very good, but almost spoiled by the crackle of crisp packets, sweet wrappers etc. The woman behind me seemed constantly to be offering her children stuff to eat - they weren't asking for it, they were sitting quietly watching the show! When it got to her asking which of them wanted to share a banana.................argh.

Oh goodness no you're not unreasonable at all. But actually iy makes me because I think it's just perpetrating that whole culture of not being able to go five minutes let alone a whole hour without stuffing something into your face...

having soemthing sweet and tasty to eat is always a big part of our cinema/theatre outings.

However, people really should do it quietly so's not to disturb others.

I don't mind so much at the cinema. But when it is a real live performer up in front, battling against constant rustling seems really unfair. It is only a small theatre - seats about 200 - so it is quite intimate. The puppeteer could certainly hear it all!

I wouldn't take stuff to theatre unless there was to be an interval and it would save me buying anything!
Cinema is differnt and ours is always very loud anyway so noone seems to notice eating

It annoys the hell out of me to see/smell/hear people stuffing themselves in cinemas, theatres or even on the street. &they're usually overweight.
