To complain or am i being too picky?

Ordered a gift for DP. As a standard it comes in a branded gift box.

When i opened it, it was the wrong item, so i emailed them and got a replacement.

The replacement has arrived which is the right item, but the gift box is ripped up one corner on the join.

I'm a little annoyed and wonder whether i'm just being picky and should ignore it, or send them another email.

Did you pay for the gift box? If you did, I'd ask for a refund or replacement. If you didn't, I'd probably just leave it. I'm assuming it's a disposable gift box that will end up in the bin anyway?

It's a boxed wallet. It's branded with the make of the Wallet rather than blank or plain.

You're not picky at all. The gift box is factored into the price for things like that.

I would go on how it would be handled if sold in a shop rather than online. Do you think the damaged packaging would mean it was sold at a discount?
(I would certainly ask for one in a shop or ask if they had one with perfect packaging - assuming this is a reasonably expensive item)

So no I don't think you are being picky - why pay the same price as everyone else for an item that is damaged? (as you say the packaging in this instance is part of the product because it is branded - I imagine you want to give the gift still in it's packaging?)
