Last year had a lot of problems with my boobs, pulled ligaments etc (or something, just has to go to the doctors a lot) and, at 40H,I was rapidly running out of high street bra sizes so....one year and 51/2 stones later I am now a 32G. Boobs still huge, getting a swimsuit in the summer was a nightmare.
I can hike them up during the day but at night age and breast feeding mean they are best friends with my waist. Any tips on decent supportive nightwear or night bras?

I wear a Primark seamless (stretchy) vest at night. 34H.

Also, have you had a proper bra intervention?

Tinabn · 13/12/2016 13:02

Will look for that. I was going for bra fitting virtually every month! The lady in m&s told me I probably wouldn't lose much on the cup size.

Mistake no. 1 is getting measured in M&S!!

Is your band very close to your actual ribs skin, or can you comfortably get your hand under it? Does the band ride up at the back, or does it sit nicely level? It's likely you're in too high a band and too low a cup. The band does almost all the work so it must be right.

The lady in m&s told me I probably wouldn't lose much on the cup size.

She's an idiot, by the way. You probably didn't lose much in actual boon size. But as your back size goes down, your cup size goes up - a 42" circumference at the nipper will be a completely different cup size for someone with a 32" back than a 40" back.

Oh god M&s are appalling, they have no idea what to do with large boobs. For God's sake get yourself to Bravissimo for a fitting. Will be the best thing you can do for yourself.

MrsHathaway · 13/12/2016 13:13
  • actual boob size
Tinabn · 13/12/2016 22:51

My last fitting was at a local clothes shop and I spent too much as I wasn't going to lose any more weight! My bras are fine, it is just nightdresses that are a problem, look like a half filled sack of potatoes!

Your back measurement isn't 32 by the sounds of it.

MollyHuaCha · 13/12/2016 23:07

You could see if there's a Rigby and Peller near you. You need to make an appointment for measuring. I've been really happy with anything I've bought there. And they have an amazing selection.

Thingmcthingyface · 13/12/2016 23:18

Bravissimo. Get a fitting. First time a bra has ever been comfortable for me, made me cry with relief. I wear a bravissimo no underwire nursing bra at night plus a tight fitting nursing top from h and m for extra support. Two clips to undo per side but no pain or mastitis so far....

potap123 · 13/12/2016 23:20

Bravissimo do good night vests with inbuilt support :)

Thingmcthingyface · 13/12/2016 23:21

Oh maybe you are not currently BF... still, m and s spent years telling me I was a 32DD I'm actually a 28F but was never given that measurement as they don't stock that size. Rugby and peller a bit overrated, all very fancy expensive stuff. Bravissimo Deco bras are a Revelation.

Tinabn · 13/12/2016 23:22

Thanks all.
