To not go to the gathering tonight?

Last week my DH and DD both got a nasty sickness bug. Violent vomiting etc and feeling terrible. It lasted for about 3 days for both.

This was 8 days ago. This morning I woke up aching all over and with mild Diarrhoea....no sickness....I just have a terrible headache and those aching chills.

So this evening is a good friends annual get together where we all exchange gifts and give things to the DC too.

I've been and got our presents...but I can't go like this can I? I might spread it.

The thing thats making me unsure is that it was over a week ago that DH and DD had it...why have I got it now...in an albeit milder form?

Also I missed last years as I was working!

That's what I thought but I feel so bad! I feel that because I didn't go last year, the host might think I'm avoiding it! I work for myself so when I say "I have to work" it's not as though anyone actually sees me in my place of work...it's just me in my office!

I can't go though....I might make everyone else sick. :(

DH can take DD though...so that's not so bad I suppose. Perhaps I can make up for it by inviting them for dinner one night before or just after Christmas.

Leave it till midday and see how you feel then before making a decision.

Thanks all. Midnight, I'm in Oz so its almost tea time here. I still feel washed out and achey....currently lying on sofa...DH back from work soonish...house a mess....it will have to wait. It's too hard to walk much. :(

Both dh and I had a vomiting bug then a week later got diaorrhea chills and headache as you describe. We couldn't work out if it was part of the same virus.

Either way you won't enjoy the party if you go do leave it. Hope you get better soon. I was so rough with it it's not nice . Bloody annoying just before Christmas too.
