You couldn't make this up.
In October I tried to place an order and it wouldn't go through. I phoned customer services to ask was and was informed that my credit card had expired. I had already added a new card and ticked all the boxes to say use this card etc but apparently unless you delete the old card they keep trying to use it. Lady on phone said she would process payment but it would take 48 hrs ( to charge a credit card !!) and hence my order that week would not be coming.
I was really cross that they hadn't told me I had two orders not paid for and that their system was so ridiculous, that I emailed customer services with an explanation of what had happened and cancelled my smart pass
Last month I had a phone call at work to say ocado were trying to get hold of me re two outstanding payments ( the same ones). I called back and spoke to a guy, asked him to look at my account and could he see a perfectly valid credit card on there, he said yes he could and that the payments had now been made. I asked him categorically if this was now sorted, he said yes. I explained how unhappy I was with this system and that I would not be using ocado again.
Yesterday I had an email from ocado, chasing payment for these two orders, saying they had been trying to get hold of me on the phone. I emailed a full and pretty angry reply and asked them if someone could actually listen to my two previous calls, both saying the matter was sorted, before replying. Today I spoke to someone who said that the old details were still on the system ( despite my deleting them) and both agents had used the old card details ( how !!). She said she would put the payment through on the new card and read the last four digits. At this point I realised it was a debit card on an account which I was using weeks ago but have been running down and hence has very little in it so I said I don't want to use that card, can I give you another over the phone and she said " no we can't do that." So I asked how I could use another card and she said " oh I've done it on this one now" so now I'm probably going to get slapped for overdraft charges as well! At that point I just burst into tears and put the phone down.
I have used them for over ten years and been a loyal customer and they have treated me so badly. I can't believe how inept they are with their credit card payment handling.
Just venting really as am still fuming
And yes I know aibu for even using ocado but that's by the by!
