we ordered a takeaway from a chinese restaurant tonite and what was a thai green curry was actualy a mucky glutenous curry-with no coconut!!!!! when we called to complain, they said that was the way they made thai reen curry! after dh patiently got the poit across that it has to at least have coconut in it they agreed to send us something else.so they took the whole gren curry and dropped anther one.
lo and behold, it was beef, which we never order in.we managed to catch the driver and send it back thinking we'll leave it and just ask for a credit.
well-they completely refused and said it was our mistake-we had a replacement, its not their fault we don't eat beef, and that they would not do anything!!!
we left it as it would have ruined the rest of our precious evening as the woman was just being pigheaded and obstinate.
Now-am I being unreasonable in feeling put out that we paid for a curry we never got and that I should pursue it as a matter of principle?
what would you do??

oh, I know it's kind of pathetic, but I kow where you are coming from...I tend to order Satay chicken...satay assumingly means peanut sauce...but there is plenty of chinese that sell a satay wihtout the peanut sauce...I mean...wtf...you take basically out what it actually is...dur...if I wanted a peer and champignonsauce I would order that, righ!"
with you, as pathetic as it is...but it is so annoying if you don't know the havits of the take away and spend your money in good faith...I eman, I have even asked, in advance on placing the order what tey understand under Satay, and they mentioned peanuts, but still no peanuts in site, never mind coming through intaste!

Nah, if it was meant to be a thai green curry, then it was meant to be a thai green curry!!

I was at Lakeside yesterday, and got scampi and chips from Harry Ramsden's, it was soo rank, and I was soooo embarrassed about taking it back, that I threw it in the bin and got a baked potato from the next kiosk.

What a wally. Us Brits, we really should learn how to complain more!

I used to own a chinese takeaway, and in my experience if we made this mistake then we would be very sorry for it and offer something else that you would like, if you didn't want anything else then we would refund or credit note you. I think they have been very rude and they have no customer service. The only thing you can do is go into the takeaway and explain face to face that you would like your money back for the meal you never ended up getting and hope they give it back to you. Good luck
