To be really pissed with this smoker

I was walking DD1 to school this morning, and as we were going past a block of flats, a lit cigarette was chucked out of a window above us to land right in front of her feet (she nearly stepped on it). Definitely still lit as well - sparks flew off when it hit the ground. She was really scared - already has a fear of fire due to a car on fire outside her nursery a couple of years ago (full on fire engine job, it was completely burnt out, the nursery had to evacuate out back). I know this is going to prey on her mind.

Seriously, what kind of lazy selfish fucking cockwomble does that?! That stretch of road has people up and down it constantly at that time of day, there's a nursery at one end, a school at the other, it's on a bus route so plenty of commuters. I'm even more cross as we'd been passing that way minutes before with DD2 in a back carrier - if it had landed on her I would have had no way of knowing .

I'll openly admit my opinions are tainted - I'm vehemently anti-smoking, I think it's a repugnant habit... but, if it doesn't affect anyone else, then go ahead, smoke yourself silly, I don't give a shit. Don't go chucking lit cigarettes on little kids though.

YANBU. At best he/she is leaving a mess all over the road at worst they actually burn a passer by.

I've had a lit cigarette land on me from the balcony of a posh city centre apartment block. I shouted up at the culprit in fury but he just ignored me and went inside. The pavement under his balcony was covered in fag-ends.

Worse: the apartment in a similar city centre block on my way to work that always, ALWAYS had at least two or three used condoms, on the pavement under a particular balcony, apparently chucked there in a similar fashion. I hope to god he looked out of the window before he threw them; it was a busy street.

I actually had someone chuck their fag end into my child's buggy once
I'm not saying they did it on purpose but they were just randomly chucking it, thank god I noticed it and got rid quickly.
Why can't people just dispose of their fag ends safely?

The mess round most smoking areas tells you that smokers don't see the turd ends as litter.

Because they're selfish entitled fuckwits? Thanks all, I'm feeling a bit calmer now - I was raging when I realised what they'd done, and must admit I yelled up at the window (hastily culling the more choice epithets I wanted to use due to DD's presence). Blood pressure settling now

I spent the rest of the time before the school bell went trying to reassure her - she was holding on quite tight, she's only 5 poor pet, but thinks of 'what ifs' that would never have occurred to me!
