my neighbour has a hobby which involves off road car rallying. He has just purchased a new monster truck thing. The other one was so loud it stuck the house when he was starting it up.Tonight after i have finished walking the dog hes jet washing his new truck resulting in it all being up my windows my christmas lights everywhere. His drive is next to our front window(link detatched type houses) so i thought it would be pretty plain to see the mess hes making.I went out to him and nicely said its all going up the windows etc.He has stopped for now but there was no sorry.Thing is i felt i had to say something because if hes off roading every weekend hes going to be jet washing as well. Was ibu?

No! Tell him to turn round and spray his mud all over his own house!

Yadnbu, and he should be offering to rinse your lights and get windows properly washed. Tel him to go and jet wash at a car wash or stand with back to your property and turn car around to do the other side so it's not spraying your side. I'd be really pissed off!

thanks Our i just felt a bit bad when i came in but to be honest i felt i had to nip it in the bud because they have no consideration for us.

thanks zig i was pissed off and as soon as i saw his new boys toys the new off roader i knew immediately he would be jet washing it all the time but thought he would at least take it in the street or to the other part of his drive. Then again hes got a huge works van parked up in our small street that hardly moves so i doubt consideration for others even enters his mind

YANBU; if he wants to jet-wash he needs to do it somewhere where you won't get water sprayed up your windows, basically. I know windows get wet when they're rained on but if he's jet-washing there'll be bits of mud and grit being blasted everywhere with the water and it's just inconsiderate of him.
