To have told him his ghost hunter was silly?

A while back a used to work nights in a hospital and in one particular shift, Oliver showed me his ghost hunting app on his phone. He was really excited about it but it was basically just a camera which showed "ghost activity" as you pointed it around. I told him it was silly so he put it away. He was a bank worker and after that he never worked in the ward again.

I saw him earlier whilst out shopping and I asked him what he was upto these days and it turns out he gave bank working up after that shift! He never mentioned the ghost hunter but AIBU to wonder if I upset him so much he decided to give up his job??? Was I out of order for telling him it was silly?? It's playing on my mind and I feel guilty.

Who is Oliver? Most likely he didn't like bank working.

Your seriously way over thinking this. Why on earth would being told an app was stupid make him pack in his job. YABVVVVVVU - really

bloodymaria · 06/12/2016 18:55

Why would he give up bank work because you told him his app was silly?

BabyImAHeadfcuk · 06/12/2016 18:57

He's just a sensitive bloke

What the fuck have I just read?

I hope "Oliver" is a pseudonym, btw.

Send Oliver some flowers and an invite to do the real ghost hunting at a castle somewhere local.

If I know Oliver, he'll love it and he'll be back working his bank shifts in no time.

I don't get it.
perhaps if you told him the app was great and he was a really great ghost hunter, then he gave up his banking job to be a full time ghost hunter because of what you had said-then you would feel awful with good cause.
but I really don't understand why you think he quit his job at a bank because you said a ghost app was silly Hmm
