To assume nothing's going to happen?

Went to the police about a crime in May 2014. As it happened abroad, I was told in June 2014 that it had been passed to Interpol.

Since then, I've spoken to the police in the uk 3 times, who have always said they don't know anything, and that it's still with Interpol. I don't have any way of contacting them, and uk police say they'll contact me if needed.

It's been so long that I'm not beginning to assume nothing will happen. AIBU to just leave it, or should I be pushing the police more to give me some kind of outcome (or something?)

Does the outcome affect you?

Often these things are just taken out of your hands and not heard of again as if it hasn't affected you personally it's not really your business.

It affects me only as much as I'd been told I would need to speak in court about it, and I don't want it to happen it to happen to someone else.

Hmm, if you're expected to speak in court I would have expected some response...

Unless, say, it's escalated and your issue (A) has unearthed issue (B) which is part of something else and would be confidential hence why you've not heard anything....

Impossible to say but nothing is ever straightforward it would seem!

Hmmm, hadn't thought of that.

I feel like it's constantly in the back of my head that I might suddenly get a call saying I have to go and testify and won't have prepared myself for it. It's just been SO long.
