That's not really what the article is about though, it's the fact they have all had 5 or more children removed.

It's an article in the Liverpool Echo regarding the fact Merseyside has a much higher than average amount of mothers who have had 5 or more kids taken into care. I don't really get why you're annoyed. It's really sad that there are that many kids living in such deprivation.

And inferring that mothers are the ones responsible.

You're missing the point, this statistic gathering is to show that current levels of support and early intervention aren't necessarily working.

This isn't about Families, but vulnerable Women.

I'm known on here, I've posted that I'm in Liverpool and I was a CP SW, I've removed some of those children, the Women (Mums) are very Vulnerable, in their own right and support for most shouldn't have started when their own Parenting started to go wrong.

This links into Mental Health, Education, Housing, Welfare Rights and social conditioning/expection/sexism.

Well I imagine that in the very very vast majority of these cases, the men had probably long since fucked off and abdicated responsibility, hence there being no need to take the kids from them.

""And inferring that mothers are the ones responsible.""

No it isn't. It's being stated that there's a higher level of deprivation generally going back a generation that isn't being addressed.

Generally these Woman haven't just reached Adulthood without the issues that would stop them Parenting successfully being obvious in the Teenage years.

Liverpool has been hardest hit by the "Cuts", the cost will be picked up (and higher) by SS and the cost to all involved.

This carries on a generation and suddenly we wonder why the Criminal Justice Bill is higher, for example.

Vulnerable Peosple are paying the price of the cuts, as they've always done, but it needs to be recognised that so do their children.
