Buying an our generation doll for 7yo Dd

Dd is 7, she will be 8 next spring. I wanted to get her an OG doll for Christmas but dh thinks she's too old for a doll.
These dolls aren't baby dolls and are obviously aimed at older children. She's still very much into her teddies and dressing up dolls.
Aibu to get her one for Xmas? It's on sale so won't be paying full price for it anyway.

My 7 yr old daughter asked for one for Xmas too. I love that she has. 7/ 8 is still young and I'm glad she's not growing up too fast (yet...)

We live abroad and the girls are all into the American girl dolls. I was slightly concerned about the price, but there is no toy that has brought her more joy. So much so, that we are heading to New York for Christmas and we have a full afternoon planned at the American Girl shop and she couldn't be more excited. She is almost 8!

Do it! Plus it makes birthdays easier as you can just buy accessories.

It's pretty sad that an eight year old might be considered too old for dolls. I know I would have adored one of these at that age. If she wants one, definitely get one.

Thanks for introducing me to OG dolls, by the way. I am now trying to resist buying one for me 15-month-old DD, even though she's clearly too young!

We are getting our 7 year old one this Christmas Smile It's on her list! She still loves dolls & babies, as do most of her friends!
