DH thinks I mumsnet too much

How much mumsnet is too much? I'm on mat leave with 10 month old DD and am on mumsnet every day. In total I probably spend a good couple of hours mumsnetting. My DH rolls his eyes when he sees I'm on here in the evening and has asked if I'm addicted.
I've name changed this week as I worried I'd be identifiable from my posts.

If it'a affecting the time you'd spend together then it's too much. If not it's fine.

I spend far longer than 2h a day on here

Plus, asking people who probably spend too much time here themselves might give you a biased opinion!

I think it depends what you would be doing instead..I often read and watch TV on a night but am on my own so doesn't really affect anyone.

That's like the definition of an alcoholic being someone who drinks more than their doctor.

I don't know how much I'm on here a day, it's mostly when i have ten minutes here or there and probably an hour in the evening, DH would say I'm addicted, but he's glued to his Boom Beach game

Hee hee, I so want to know your original username so I could tell you whether I'd spotted you! I check in hourly, so yep, probably way too much but it's been a crappy old year and MN is keeping me (relatively) sane!

But at the moment I'm having bad back spasms so I can't really move around too much. I have to sit with a hot water bottle behind my back and doped up on pain killers.

My oldest (3 years old) is helping as best as she can which makes me feel so guilty. She shouldn't have to be a carer at her age but Dh is at work and I am limited to what I can do.

So she will fetch me a nappy for ds if he needs his bum changing and will take the nappy away, she will fetch ds's juice if it needs filling up and will get the bottle out of the cupboard so I don't have to bend. She is trying her best to keep him entertained too and she's such a little life saver.

I keep myself distracted from the pain by mnetting

This is made up of filling time at work, the odd ten minute browse when having a break, and after work when I'm winding down.

I have no excuses at all, I just like it!

I actually searched posters I see posting often to compare my posting volume to theirs and I'm not at the level of some who are literally on every thread but I lurk a fair bit too.

wannadance it might do a bit. DH works long hour so we only have about an hour hanging out in the evening and although we chat often I'm a bit distracted by a mumsnet bunfight (not that I involve myself in those types of threads usually- just enjoy the drama).

I feel most guilty when I should be interacting with my DD more. I do spend a lot of time playing with her and we get out lots but mumsnet definitely fills any gaps in the day when I could be cleaning etc

He might have a point if you're on here instead of talking to him.

I go on MN at work but rarely at home or the weekends as there are other things to be doing.

as, lets be honest, there are some people that are always always PERPETUALLY here- that's not a critique, just an observation

Haha! Sorry to panic anyone now frantically searching to see how hooked they are.

I realised I was a bit too involved when I saw the name of a very regular poster on a thread and realised that from other threads I know her profession, when her baby's due and her opinions on so many parenting/schooling issues that if I knew her in RL she'd definitely be outed. That's when I changed my name on here.

I wouldn't have had time to be on MN with a 10 months old, so I don't know how you do it! With babies, my days are spent running and doing chores, going to baby groups, long walks, more chores. No time to sit in front of a computer for hours.

I now on it when I am in the train, or waiting for a phone call or just taking a break.

If you are on MN instead of doing something else, then you are spending too much time. If you are on MN instead of watching tv or something like that, then you are fine. Why don't you want to spend more time with your DH in the evening?

I am on here a lot but usually limit to ten mins in the morning and in on it only when I an watching TV in the evening.

That said, on maternity I was on it a lot. I really needed the adult conversation abd advice.
