to expect the medical system to do it's job?

Q: How many people can one find in the medical system who don't care about their job, and who are all too happy to ignore issues they should be doing something about?

Seems like far, far too many. Anyone else feeling like this?

If talking about nz medical system then gp's can be appalling...specialists only ever use word of mouth either brilliant beyond compare or prepared to bankrupt you in return for telling you what you already knew.

due to my dd1's medical issues - lots of various specialists, Gp and allied health agencies - only one or two have I come across who are like that and I quickly changed to other providers who were not like that. Having said that - I am in Aus.

Unfortunately when in the Uk and dealing with major surgery for dd1 at 8 weeks old as well as lots of other consultants etc - again only one or two who were 'useless' the rest were fab!

yep, in NZ. My GP is great, but the damn specialists are awful. The DHB is even worse. I used to work in the labs and never saw my patients, but I swear I cared more about them than a lot of the people I have had to deal with in the last year.
