To think Tony Blair must live on another planet

If he really thinks that what the current mess needs right now is him. A war criminal champagne socialist who couldn't lie straight in bed, whose time as PM ended ingloriously - and he thinks HE should make a comeback???

Only someone who helped massively to fuck up the ME and then thought he could be the peace envoy for the region (and trouser a hefty wedge too) could be so blind, surely!

As soon as I saw him on TV on the day of the Brexit results, I knew this would be his plan. He's right about the dope in charge of Labour, though.

He's not even an MP. It's like everyone saying Nigel Farage could be PM - it's not like that here and if they're not an MP they can do anything at all.

How dare he lecture people about peace whilst taking money from dictatorships? It's a funny kind of socialist that's amassing a huge property empire and whoring himself out for whatever regime has the fattest checkbook.

The Labour govt achieved some really good things but his entire premiership has been tainted by Iraq and his behaviour out of office.

The one thing I will say for TB was that he was a unifying force. I admire Corbyn's principles - even if I don't agree with all of them - but he is a very divisive figure. The rise of the hard left is concerning; Private Eye has been writing about this for a while.

pauldacre has nailed it. Plus I always thought it was - I can't go further than coincidental but Hmm - that his big thing was the Human Rights Act. And what kind of law did his wife specialise in? It's almost like she had a heads up to make a fortune out of it!

Yes we're all in a mess and he and his govt helped put us there. He can fuck right off.

Saying that he did bring some very good policies and changes in when he was pm but the war can't be forgiven - the arrogance was breathtaking.

He thinks he's above the law. He has a God complex and was determined to throw his weight behind whatever the USA wanted, regardless of whether it was democratically the right thing to do in his own country. Countless people have lost their lives and the rise of IS can be linked to what happened in Iraq. You can't just storm in somewhere, bump off the ruling despot and then magically expect western-style democracy to spring up.

Damn right he should be in prison. Not that this would be likely to be any comfort to the service men and women and countless civilians who were killed in the conflict.

He needs a job now as the dictators and their ilk that he cosied up to have finally realised he can't do anything for them, and have given him the boot. So he's trying to re-invent himself as the Saviour of Britain .

He's so arrogant he's deluded himself into thinking he can save Britain. And that - almost even more ludicrously - Britons will welcome him back with open arms.

No way.

His time is over. He needs to shut up and go away.

Either he's right about God- in which case he's going to Hell when he dies.
Or he's wrong about God- in which case he will have been falsely righteous his whole life, and will be condemned to oblivion.

I studied politics and have worked in politics for nearly 15 years (absolutely nothing to do with Labour and am actually a member of a different political party) and I simply cannot understand the vitriol directed towards Blair. He was a good PM and dragged the UK into the 21st century. The right wing press have really done a job on his reputation. Do you seriously think that we would have avoided the Iraq war if a different PM had been in charge???
