Im currently being forced to watch this person on tv by my niece who is obsessed with little mix...

Some of his highlights so far whilst interviewing them:
" So where you on the Xfactor?"
"Did you win the X Factor?"
"So this is the album, (clumsily picks up cd and half holds it up to the camera) Is it out now?"

I know Little mix wouldn't be my chosen topic if I was forced onto mastermind but seriously isnt researching your guests just a basic essential when interviewing someone and knowing what to ask. even reading over the questions beforehand and having someone prompt you.

In other news he's all there when the food appears - Awaits in the background with his fork, I've seen him push past guests to get to the food on a few occasions. Thinking of starting a petition for him to retire from tv, His reading of the autocue reminds me of my 4 year old doing his sounds!

I remember him from his Soccer AM days and his classic commentary on the Chelsea Arsenal FA Cup when he was derogatory about one of the Arsenal players, who immediately went and scored the winning goal. I have managed to avoid him since then.

LunaLoveg00d · 20/11/2016 13:18

DH used to watch some god awful saturday morning football programme on Sky before we had kids and he was on that and was dreadful. Everything i've seen him in since he was shocking. I love foodie programmes but avoid the C4 one because I can't bear the man.

I really like Sunday Brunch. I like Tim but it's true that Simon is the better presenter and a cracking Chef too.

It's easy Sunday morning viewing , I don't think of TL as being a big headed twat, he's affable even if his jnterviewing technique is a bit rubbish.

JinkxMonsoon · 20/11/2016 14:26

If any of you haven't seen it google Charlie Brooker Tim lovejoy. ..he has someone on doing a skit of Tim reading the autocue and it's down to a T.

I remember that! It was perfect.

Eminybob · 20/11/2016 14:35

Ha, just watched that Charlie brooker clip. Absolutely spot on.

See, if everyone in the world knows this of Tim lovejoy, why do they let him invade 3 hours of channel 4's Sunday morning????

Sunnymeg · 20/11/2016 14:45

Luna that was Soccer Am! Smile

SuperManStoleMyPants · 20/11/2016 14:49

I thought this would be an amusing thread about the Simpsons...Blush

MitzyLeFrouf · 20/11/2016 15:19

He is a particularly charmless man.

PeachBellini123 · 20/11/2016 15:20

Agree he's an idiot. I like Simon - his recipes are good. But the 'banter' is irritating.

Screamer1 · 20/11/2016 15:27

He's the worst. Have you seen this?

Screamer1 · 20/11/2016 15:28

Oops just seen that's already been posted.

But yes, he's terrible.

RusholmeRuffian · 20/11/2016 16:20

He's awful. I did enjoy Martin Freeman making him look a twat once on Soccer AM. Lovejoy was wearing a Ramones T-Shirt, Freeman asked him to name some of their albums and he couldn't Blush.

RusholmeRuffian · 20/11/2016 16:23

I would heartily recommend When Saturday Comes's review of his book

Agree you need to watch the Jake Yapp 60 second Sunday Brunch. Sums it up perfectly Grin

(fwiw JY also does great ones of Dinner Date and The Chase....!)

I didn't know TL owned the production company. That explains why he's still in a job. Simon is a bit better, although I've felt more negative towards him since I found out his pub doesn't sell crisps or nuts (something about he just wants people to eat his food Hmm!)

Iamtheresurrection · 20/11/2016 16:47

I didn't mind him on Soccer AM - it was that type of programme. I always got the feeling he thought he was going to do something much better. But he hasn't.

That book review is hilarious!

bananamonkey · 20/11/2016 19:58

Ah someone beat me to the book review, it's hilarious! He's such a crap presenter, Louise was similarly dreadful when it was on BBC.

user1471517900 · 20/11/2016 20:44

I only came on to post the book review!

"Oh it's ok, it's only Ray Parlour...." Is the quote too. Magnificent as he then hammered it into the net. Must find that clip too. Bradley Walsh then leaps on him
