Our kitchen ceiling fell through a couple of weeks ago after a leak, all sorted now but I need to replace the horrid metal stick light things that I hated anyway

Everywhere I look everyone just has spotlights in the kitchen - I don't want those, what does everyone have? I'm stuck for ideas

Recessed downlighting in the cooking part, in the dining part we have a hanging lightbulb with a £1 paper ball shade from Asda's (as are all the other lights in the house bar the kids rooms!)

Had to google what recessed downlighting was, it does look very impressive, but I think I'll cry if we have to have any more building work done

I am loving that spider light though

Try Wicks, despite being more of a builder's merchant type shop than the other DIY stores, they always seem to have a nice selection of lighting. Something might catch your eye.

I love your kitchen Bestnames

We have a yucky triple spotlight which never seems to light the right place in the kitchen and an under cabinet strip light - all which need to be replaced. Love the spider light too ❤️

Bestnames Your kitchen is awesome! I wish fucking Persimmon could put in a decent kitchen like that. All I have is one single CFL!

NoCapes · 19/11/2016 20:32

Love your kitchen bestnames I seem to keep coming back to pendant lights, but I feel more like they're just for over dining tables, or an island as yours is, we have kind of a 'cooking side' and the side where the dining table/back door/playroom door is, so not sure what I'd put in the cooking side iyswim
I love your curved backsplash too, never seen that before

Never thought of Wicks, will have a look now thanks Weeds

I have those too - mine came from John Lewis.

Not my kitchen, but I came across this from Garden Trading today. They had lots of other nice ones as well.
