to ask how to note all this down

The HV is coming to see us next week. I am querying whether some of our son's behaviour is just normal toddler stuff that perhaps we need guidance on how to deal with, or something more.

There's so many things he does and so I'd like to start getting together some info to give to her to discuss.

Just how do I make sure I note it all down?

Definitely write it all down.

When DS was tiny and I was going crazy I kept a log of everything he did to see if I could find a pattern and I did. When I shared it with the HV she could see why I was going crazy and it was invaluable to have a written record rather than trying to remember stuff and not being sure.

Keep your phone on you and write it in your 'notes' app as things pop into your head then before she comes organise it l into a proper list.

If it's behaviours then videoing it on your phone could help, so that they can see exactly what you're talking about.

I would also have a categories with a list so you can highlight any particular issues

e.g. Communication - speech, pointing etc.
Motor skills - falling over, ability to manipulate small toys etc.

One of our big things is "personal" hygiene. Nappy changes, getting dressed, washing his face, nail clipping, hair washing... As such, the appointment is at 9am so I not going to get him dressed before she arrives so she can see the battle we go through daily

Would it be helpful to look at typical milestones for his age? Then highlight any he doesnt do?

I note your comment about leaving dressing for the HV to see first hand, which is a good plan, but might also be worth videoing a couple of sessions just in case the change in routine / having someone else there creates a different response from him.

I once videoed dd to show doc something and he said that was great to do as it was really clear (luckily clear that what she was doing was normal).

Apparently all developmental ilestones have been met accoridng to nursery. He doesnt do/have the issues at nursery that he has at home etc (nappy changes) but then they are very routine based
