Please help me pick a bag ; LV Alma bb or Celine Nano luggage ? (Warning :designer bags !)

Hello everyone,

Well Christmas is around the corner and my parents have said they want to get me a bag ! (I'm young and still dependant, long story as to why I'm on this forum).

'Problem' is , I can't quite decide which one I want more.

I don't know how to attach pictures so I'll give full names and avg prices so people can hopefully google if they don't know the bags.
Louis Vuitton Alma BB in epi leather (£1100)
Celine Nano Luggage Tote (~£1900)

I want a small bag as that's what I use most and I want one to use daily. Also want one that can be evening or day.

I love a Céline but I would go for the trapeze or the belt tote. I just feel the nano has had its day a couple of years ago...

The LV is cute though, and I don't think it's a mature bag... in a small size it's really fun!

The LV is far nicer, though I'm a 40-something bag fan and I've never spent anything close to that much, so can't comment on resale value etc.

The Celine belt is beautiful and classy - more of a workplace bag I feel ? I'm looking for something to use as I pop out to the shops or to use for dinner in the evening.

I might just count the votes at 10pm and go with that !

Oh for me the Celine is much more elegant.

LV devalued by all those awful (imho) logo bags.

LV are classic bags that have stood the test of time.

The Louis Vuitton is a better bag in terms of quality. It will wear better and last longer.

Celine is ok but the cream colour will get dirty easily and be harder to clean. The leather is softer.

Basically the Louis will look better with time and use. The celine won't

Céline. Prefer the belt tote tho.

LV devalued by copies, unfortunately. They're ubiquitous.

I love LV bags but I think the Celine is far prettier.

I love the celine, but I like floppy bags. I think the LV looks too structured and stiff which works great in a larger size but is perhaps a little impractical in a smaller size.

Celine is able to be dressy or casual too but don't think you could be too casual with the LV.

I'm not a huge fan of either of those but if I had to pick I'd probably get the LV just because the Celine nano is everywhere!
I just got the mini matelasse bag from the Gucci GG Marmont collection and I love it! Good size and good price.

Celine has dated rapidly. I wouldn't buy celine at the moment.

For a modern but useful, I'd go for SL College or Loewe puzzle. Both very hardy and stylish. Going up a grade, a 30 Kelly or Chanel jumbo. I got rid of most of my LVs apart from the S Coppola collabs, they look very dated.

I had a quick count and the Louis Vuitton one won. TBH I'm quite relieved and I guess that tells me that's the one I really want. The Celine is lovely and hopefully sometime later I might be able to get it for myself.

Just think the Louis will brighten my dark outfits and will work well at night. Also , like PPs said, if I want to sell it, it will have better resale value and it's timeless.

Glad you're going for LV... Celine bag looks like it came from Primark.

Loewe puzzle is what I'd go for in that price range as mentioned by a PP.
