Neighbour slamming door repeatedly

honeyJD · 15/11/2016 17:26

The last few months my neighbour has been slamming one of her internal doors constantly. She'll slam it 3-4 times within 5 seconds, so I'm guessing the door must not be fitting properly or be loose or something. This can happen multiple times during an hour though and it's driving me nuts. She has two young cats and I'm assuming she's closing this door to keep them out of whichever room.
We're always polite to each other and say hello so I know the logical solution is to speak to her about it. I hate being confrontational so I don't know how to approach this in a friendly but firm way... Help?!

Oh God are you my neighbour...? It's DD I promise! Just have a nice chat with her and say the doors are noisy; please be more gentle.

Are you handy or do you know anyone that is? Offer to help fix her door without even mentioning the noise.

She may have OCD

Maybe your tree is blocking their piano playing window? Wink

Our neighbor never. Loses a door by let's it slam. They are fire doors sohave closer things and he lets all doors just slam shut. I had to go out and have a word at 1am when he did it. He's a teacher so was off for school holidays and didn't seem to think 'ah other people will be working I'll keep the noise down !' No he just woke whole building.

Talk to her about it, nicely.
