To want clothes which aren't bloody polyester or viscose?

Not a Taat but rather more inspired by the thread regarding how much people spend on clothes per month.

Even higher end high street these days seems predominantly polyester, viscose and modal. Where can I find clothes which are well cut, and more importantly, quality fabrics? Not viscose, not rayon, not any of the new cellulose fibres - cotton, wool etc.

I'm short and fat so cos is a no go. Anywhere else? I used to love the plainer white stuff wrap dresses for work but the last few years they've all been viscose jersey, which washes poorly and goes shiny.
Is there some secret shop I'm not aware of or am I doomed to suffer static shocks and sweaty fabrics for ever?

Seconded for Seasalt - they do lovely tunics in thick organic cotton which skim your lumps and bumps nicely. Also do dresses, jeans, footwear etc and a good range of waterproof coats which they are justly famous for.

There used to be a blog (work wear edit??) that covered this kind of thing.

The blogger went to places Zara, Uniqlo, and, I think, Banana Rep. and photographed herself in the changing rooms giving reviews and opinions too.

It was mainly work wear, but she looked for silk and cotton tops, woollen coats etc.

It does seem to be polyester everywhere Sad and when you do find cotton, it is thin.

I have a couple of things that are polyester/cotton and they do not wear well - the cotton wears away and the polyester gradually turns grey and they go hard.

ThinkOfTheMice · 11/11/2016 15:56

The wrap dresses I got from Boden are all bloody viscose too!
Will try some of these - saw some sea salt in John Lewis but very small selection and they didn't have anything I liked - website seems much better!
Toast just not a shape I can carry off - I'd look like an ewok in a bag

Lands End often have nice stuff, bit pricey but always having discounts and sales, excellent guarantee and returns policy.
