To think that relactating might be a very good idea?

If I took up pumping 6 or 8 times a day.

I would not only burn off thousands of calories and lose weight but my boobs would be full and pert rather than empty husks.

Genius thinking no?

By Jove, you've got it. I could eat ginormous quantities of cake while BFing and still lose weight. Plus I was a D-cup. I'm in.

MOIST · 06/11/2016 17:53

It's brilliant isn't it. Why have I not considered this before?

I'm currently BFing 12 week old DD. I fed DS until he was 2.8 and lost 3 stone so hoping for more of the same!

peaceloveandbiscuits · 06/11/2016 17:59

I didn't lose weight BFing because I counteracted the calories burnt with vast quantities of cake Angry

lionsleepstonight · 06/11/2016 18:01

I thought this was going to be about moving house, but you were a poor speller....

BertieBotts · 06/11/2016 18:01

Maybe you could donate the milk to a milk bank

MOIST · 06/11/2016 18:06

I'd probably have to give up wine to do that.

Batteriesallgone · 06/11/2016 18:08

You have to have a nurseling under 6m old to donate normally.

But you could make hair conditioner or body butter with it. Breastmilk and coconut oil, combination beloved of fb hippy parenting groups!

Oysterbabe · 06/11/2016 18:09

I expressed every 3 hours for 6 months and didn't lose anything. I did use sugar in place of sleep though.

MOIST · 06/11/2016 18:09

DD is 18. That's possibly a bit late. Also I'm not sure where my pump is.

If you pumped and drank your own breast milk instead of cow's milk you'd get a calorie deficit and all those lovely probiotics, so you could save on Yakukt

MrsNuckyThompson · 06/11/2016 18:16

I didn't lose weight through breast feeding!!! My boobs went from DD to H. All in all it wasn't a good result for me. I fed for two years and things didn't improve afterwards!

Loved it and will be doing it again but not because it did me any real favours!!

Softkitty2 · 06/11/2016 18:19

Im breaatfeeding and since I started i am constantly wearing a bra and nursing pads. Cannot wait until the baby stops bf so i can set the girls free and burn all my bra

Antifrank · 06/11/2016 18:23

I read this as relocating

So will answer in that spirit

Yes, suggest you do it in another room

peaceloveandbiscuits · 06/11/2016 18:24

Softkitty that was my experience too. I soaked through a disposable pad in a couple of hours Envy would like to use reusable pads this time, but worry I will need hundreds anyway.

YokoUhOh · 06/11/2016 18:25

I could only eat what I wanted for the first three months of BF. I'm starting to pile it on again now...

Crunchymum · 06/11/2016 18:40

I must be the only sucker who gained weight whilst feeding?

I still feedy 22mo now and I'm the weight I was the day after I delivered her.

Damn cake and crisps and massive portions and all the other crap I shove down my throat

Crunchymum · 06/11/2016 18:41

Feedy = feed my

MOIST · 06/11/2016 18:49

Actually I put on about 3 stone while breastfeeding but it counteracted the weight lost with hyperemesis.

I still think it's a goer though.

I didn't loose anything until stop bf. Leaking milk everywhere, random squirting, nursing bras, the pain in the ass expressing time takes up - solid no from me
