AIBU that the Batman cartoons portray mental illness and psychiatric hospitals in a really offensive and outdated manner?
DS has been watching and I'm really genuinely shocked by the portrayal of psychosis, personality disorders etc. He loves Batman and I feel bad about not letting him watch it but I feel it's going to distort his view of mental illness and as a family we have ongoing personal experience of that. I don't want him to be scared of the family
member with the mental illness or see them as a "bad guy".
