I'm being a grumpy old lady and I know it!

IABU but I want to moan!

We're 3 weeks away from repatriating back to the UK and are living in serviced apartments (something between a hotel and a home) as we've shipped everything.

We've got a new neighbour who is obviously excited about her new apartment and is showing it off this weekend. There's lots of music, chatting and singing. It's afternoon so not keeping anyone awake.

I'm being a grumpy old lady. I don't want to listen to someone else's shit music and ridiculously excited giggling... I don't even want to here someone else's conversation!

Also, I can smell cigarette smoke. I'm sure this is just because the door is constantly opening and closing and wafting it down the hallway. If the smell continues after the "party" I'll contact the building manager.

I'm 6 months pregnant with a one year old and I need to go and live in an isolated cottage for the next three months!

And now I'm grumpier because I can't even get flamed on AIBU for being grumpy.

Yabu, you don't want people socialising on a Friday afternoon? I'm really failing to see the need to waste energy moaning about this, to be perfectly honest.

bigfriendlygiant · 28/10/2016 13:33

It's not regular Friday out here, it's the first day of the weekend. The socialising bastards.

I can understand the grumpy while pregnant but yabu.

I love an afternoon party, back home for Emmerdale and bed for 9. Post pregnancy get yourself a babysitter and join in the next one.

I do hope they've all naffed off by 7pm. I plan on watching old episodes of Hollyoaks on YouTube and eating my body weight in chocolate tonight. I don't want my bubble burst by the sound of other people having fun, bastards!

Yabu and yes, you're a grump.

FlyingGaribaldi · 28/10/2016 13:57

If you're pregnant, 'old' is clearly a relative term! Yabu, but it's entirely understandable. You're unsettled, and squealing neighbour is presumably just arriving to live in the place you're leaving, which probably makes you think about big changes with small children etc etc. I would also be baffled as well as irritated, as who the hell gets that excited about serviced apartments??? We stayed in one briefly in Dubai and it was weird and sterile and decorated in 'expensive ME hotel bad taste'. Then, when we happened to be in the neighbours', it was very weird to see everything absolutely identical, down to the ornaments and fake plants.

I didn't come over here looking to get sympathy, hesterton Wink**

FlyingGaribaldi that's exactly what it is, just not in Dubai. Excitable, giggly, sociable bastard having a house warming surrounding by such gaudy tat!
