I'm at a well known holiday place- sub tropical swimming pool etc!
Today I was in the outdoor pool enjoying a laze around with ds - beautiful sunny day, warm pool etc. Turned to my right to see a boy about 12-13 in the pool with a nosebleed. He start dripping blood into the pool. His mum and dad are with him so I thought that's ok they will help him get out and sort him out.
Er...... No! Dad swam off with his Dd ( I assume she was) while mum swam about and son kept bleeding. Not horrendous amount of blood but it was coming through his fingers as he squeezed his nose. After a few minutes of mum telling him to squeeze but REMAINING IN THE POOL I went over and said " excuse me but he really should get out, this is a swimming pool and he shouldn't be bleeding in the pool". She laughed and said ' oh he gets these all the time it will soon stop'!! ShockShockShock
I said ' he needs to get out'. She said no he will be fine!
I then went and told the lifeguard who blew his whistle and ordered him out the pool! His mother looked daggers at me!!
AIBU to think this was truly gross and disgusting and his mother should not have needed to be told he should leave the pool!?!

Eevee77 · 18/10/2016 16:53

Gross. YANBU. I'm sure you'll get people posting that there are all amount of bodily fluids in pools but honestly, just standing there bleeding is awful.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/10/2016 16:54

YANBU.
If the lad wasvery prone to nosebleeds, his mum should have kept some cotton cloth or suchlike handy so he could deal with it while getting out of the pool.

Shadowboy · 18/10/2016 16:54

Grim! Good thing you got him out. His parents were totally in the wrong.
