hes driving me mad,

the computer is in our tiny living room, 2foot away from where i sit on the sofa, and he taps away.

hes told me im "out", apparently this means, out of order

hes 12, in love again and probably wants to discuss valentines gifts with his chick, she asked him to buy her a bra

agree
think 2 hours at that age is v long indeed

brandy7 · 08/02/2007 17:46

thankyou!! that is exactly what i told him.he doesnt really go on it in the week, i think hes treating tonight like a weekend as hes not got school tomorow. on a normal night hes lucky if i let him have an hour and thats after bath, homework

apparently ALL his friends have computers in their room and are on it all night!yea right.

2 hours? My 11 year old ds is not allowed the internet in his room , is not allowed to msn at all and uses the internet for homework or other research. Sorry, but 2 hours is far far too much at any age.

southeastastra · 08/02/2007 17:51

2 hours isn't that long my ds(13) goes on msn all the time

3.30 home

upto 4.30 homework

4.30 - 5 play with little bruv

5 - 6 play/bath/shower

6.30 - 9pm free time

usually between 6.30 - 8 hes either on playstation or nagging about msn

i dont allow either after 8pm but hes allowed t.v in bed till 9

ds is 14(15 saturday)
he will be banging away from about 7.15 until 9 like you the computor is right behind me. so after a while I just kick him off.......mn calls.
hate the idea fo internet in the bedroom, i like to be able to "see" what he is doing.

brandy7 · 08/02/2007 21:09

2shoes, i agree about the internet in the bedroom, too dodgy and you dont know who they are talking too. hes just got off after is 2hours was up and most of that time he sat watching tv with me waiting for someone to reply back to him

ds was doing that while waterloo road was on

katelyle · 08/02/2007 21:51

Brandy - when does he have dinner? I have an 11 year old who is still at Primary school. She doesn't have tv or internet in her bedroom - we only have one telly so she has to we all have to negotiate to watch what we want to watch. I allow about an hour of screen time per day - that includes playstation, DS, internet and tv. And I do expect a bit of reading every day too. However, I have a horrible feeling that all this will change next year when she goes to secondary school - I'm bracing myself for the battles!

brandy7 · 08/02/2007 22:06

2shoes, thats what ds was watching!

katy, he has is tea about 5oc. they are definitely more difficult when they get to secondary school, my son was a darling till he got to year 6 in primary. hes 12.5 even though in year 7, hes very hormonal, stubborn, obstinate, typical teenager.make the most of your daughter now

brandy7 i look at msn as being like a phone call. I can remember being on the phone all the time at his age.

southeastastra · 08/02/2007 22:10

my ds(13) has msn in his room, i trust him though! he does his homework on time, it's true msn is like a phone call - they're not on it all the time

bandstand · 08/02/2007 22:17

i limited to 2 hours, but he does runescapeat the same time as msn, lots of hearts on his msn?????? ds12..

brandy7 · 08/02/2007 22:32

i think il lighten up a bit while hes got the girlfriend. when they split up he'll probably revert back to spending the time on the playstation! tbh when he is on it, its probably the only time he sits in the living room with me, i just cant stand the tapping!

bandstand, know what you mean about the lovehearts, praps your boy has a girlfriend as well

bandstand · 08/02/2007 22:33

several i think, or a different one every day

This has just made me laugh, a timecapsule to 11 years ago!

araiwa · 22/04/2018 17:14

How much do you use the internet?

Ohdearyme2018 · 22/04/2018 17:15

Can’t you get some sort of app that limits thier internet time?

Ohdearyme2018 · 22/04/2018 17:16

Haaaaa this is from 11 years ago 😂

Katyb1310 · 22/04/2018 17:24

Ohdearyme2018 · 22/04/2018 17:25
