To not go to this salon again

I booked a cut and colour at a local salon and had a patch test done on weds. It irritated my skin so I let the salon know via their website (same as I booked the appt) that it had and they said they couldn't put a dye on my scalp but they could do foils. I arrived yesterday for my appointment - I was ten mins early. The lady was shocked to see me and when I asked about foils she said she wouldn't do them in case it went wrong. I asked her to cut my hair. She sat me down and trimmed my hair. It took less than five mins. As I was paying someone else came into the shop for their appointment. So clearly she had booked them into my slot. (She works alone).

AIBU to feel miffed and not go back there? My first time there.

Oh and can anyone advise if the bit about foils is true? I've never had a reaction before.

I wouldn't want foils in case the reaction occurred again. I've seen photos of women who've reacted very badly and wouldn't take the risk.

Did you confirm that you were happy to go ahead with the appointment for foil instead.

It sounds like it was more of a "we can't do a full colour but can do foils, is that ok?"and if you didn't confirm then they assumed you didn't want the appointment.

Yeah perhaps we both got the wrong end of the stick! :(

Maybe it's just crossed wires? Did you confirm that you still wanted the appointment? Maybe the person who replied on the website didn't relay the info to the hairdresser. If not then it does make the hairdresser look a little incompetent but I don't think they've done anything so bad I wouldn't give them another chance, they're only human and mistakes are made.

I just figured that they knew I would come as I had booked for a cut and a colour. Now I feel really awkward and stupid for turning up :(

Sounds like it's one of those annoying places that requires you to confirm an appointment.
