To think the new IKEA website is crap?

It's just rubbish: you used to be able to click on an item and then look at other colours and sizes and therefore prices really easily.

I had to go and have a look.
I agree, I liked to look and change the colour to see if other colours would be more suitable, They don't have the other items in this range choice either.

awkward91 · 05/10/2016 22:18

I hate the changes too. There was nothing wrong with the old site in my opinion.

seminakedinsomebodyelsesroom · 05/10/2016 22:22

I don't like the fact they've got rid of the shopping list function. You used to be able to browse the site and add all the crap things you desperately needed to a list and then take it with you to the store. That way you definitely did not end up buying even more crap things you didn't need.

GreenandWhite · 05/10/2016 22:22

Yep agreed

Woody67 · 05/10/2016 23:21

And so is the catalogue!

honeysucklejasmine · 05/10/2016 23:25

I don't understand... it's new, but I can still see a full range of colour options etc for the products.

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 05/10/2016 23:36

Shopping list is still there. Put the items in the shopping bag, and then when you click on that you have a choice of buying it online or having it as a shopping list for instore, and you still have the option of clicking between size and colour options on items that have different sizes and colours...

The old site was frustrating and annoying and slow.

Thingywhatsit · 05/10/2016 23:39

It's awful ☹️☹️☹️☹️ You can't email the shopping list anymore either 😮😮 and I so miss being able to have a few shopping lists going at the same time. I used to have a "need", "want" and "lottery win" shopping lists ....

hunibuni · 05/10/2016 23:50

It gave me the rage today. I liked being able to check stock availability and forecast so that I could plan when to go, or be able to send DH to the exasct location because he swears it's the 7th circle of hell Grin I also preferred the old layout and being able to see which products were compatible without the while rigmarole of putting in the names.

AnyTheWiser · 05/10/2016 23:52

Bloody awful, isn't it? Can't see how many are in stock, or other items in range. I hate it.

MariposaUno · 06/10/2016 00:31

Agreed! They took my list away and I spent ages putting it all back in a basket for a later date, will try and look again for the list but it's all a pain.

I like to shop by grab and go, it's near impossible to do that in Ikea it's too big for that. I get to the middle thinking I'm near the end then have a mini meltdown, It is my idea of hell.

SquinkiesRule · 06/10/2016 15:40

Dam I didn't look to see if my shopping list was still there. Sad

StubbleTurnips · 06/10/2016 15:45

Mobile site is bloody terrible too, the catalogue we always write off as you can never find what you're looking for.

IKEA needs to have a word with itself.

LookingOldBeforMyTime · 06/10/2016 15:46

I agree with everyone so far. The stock availability is useless which is going to hack people off if the that have to make a long journey. Useless for searching other colours or what is in the range. The Family weekly special offers have disappeared from the Tottenham page.

It could do with updating, but this is a disaster. I'm sure it will affect their bottom line.

wowfudge · 06/10/2016 16:01

If it ain't broke, don't fix it - I cannot understand why they even changed it. Mind you, the app was useless.

OP posts:
IminaPickle · 06/10/2016 16:04

It's awful. I'm planning a new kitchen- my original favoured one has been stopped and now I can't browse different kitchens.

orangeyellowgreen · 06/10/2016 18:17

There are far too many essays about family values, Ikea's mission statements, Scandinavian philosophy etc.
I want an index so I can find details of each item.

Poocatcherchampion · 06/10/2016 18:19

It used to have similar items so it was easy to see if there was a footstool to match a sofa for eg or another similar sofa but I couldn't easily find any of that.

And I miss the lists.

dancerdog · 06/10/2016 18:37

Agree, it is terrible. And come to think of it, I sent them a complaint that they had discontinued something I could not find at all, and they never replied, not even to tell me that it does still exist, just well hidden....

BouleBaker · 06/10/2016 18:47

Bloody IBM. I said when I found out they were redesigning it that they'd balls it up. It's all they're good for nowadays.
