To think this kid should be removed from class?

Hi all we have long standing issues with a boy in ds (8) class at school. All last year he was manipulating ds to go hit other kids he didn't like or had fallen out with. We stopped them playing together and all has been fine. Fast forward to this week we've had countless tales already of Fred (name changed obvs) hit me etc only today Fred has strangled ds 'until my voice went funny' in line after playtime. My ds says it was an accident and he said sorry.

How the balls do you accidentally strangled someone?

Headteacher said ds TA seen him clutching his throat after am play and told him to get water assuming it was a sore throat.

Wtf do I do. Head getting back to me Monday.

For reference ds in mainstream school but has autism.

You can think what you like- but the head doesn't have to remove a child or tell you anything about Fred just because you say so. How would you feel if a parent was demanding your child be removed because of something to do with his autism? You don't know what is going off in the other child's life, maybe he has a poor home life or his own SN.

Having said that, you don't have to allow your child to be bullied by Fred. The key is 'how are you going to keep my child safe?' (And don't accept an answer that is 'punishing' your child such as keeping him in at break!)

Can you write down all the incidents that you can think of, and keep a detailed log from here on? And whatever the head says they will do to protect your child, you need to decide how long the school will try it for- eg will you review after a week, or after 2 incidents?

Your poor DS, did he have any marks on his neck?

His neck is a little red and scratched yes. I've photographed.

I do actually know the little lad quite well. They were the best of friends until he realised he could manipulate ds. We did all sorts for him (and his mother)even took him on holiday with us for a week. He doesn't have any SEN himself.
