Not to tell my wedding venue...

That we aren't staying in the complimentary room for the bride and groom, and let my bridesmaid have it instead?

We would rather go home(!) and not have the morning after with family etc. The room is just a standard double not a fancy one.

I kinda feel like I should tell them but I don't want them to say my bridesmaid has to pay for it if we aren't having it Hmm

They would know who was staying in it on the day, I should probably tell them today though (nearly a week in advance), shouldn't I?

I wouldn't tell them. Just do it and if it is queried afterwards (unlikely) just say it was a last minute change of plan.

I wouldn't tell them either, just make sure you check in (or, when she checks in say it's on your behalf cos you're busy with wedding stuff)

I also wouldn't tell them, if you get that room included in the price I see no issue with 'gifting' it as it doesn't make a difference!

Is the room included in the wedding package or has it been specifically gifted to you?

The only reason I would tell them is if there are any unpaid bills the following morning it usually falls to the bride and groom to sort out. I'd hate them to go knocking and demanding money off my bridesmaid.

I work in a hotel which gives comp rooms for B&G and I'd not bat an eye if the B&G chose not to make use of the room and give it to someone else.

What I'd suggest though is speaking to the wedding coordinator about it beforehand in a loose "not sure if we will stay can we let BM take it?" And see what they say. We often upgrade the B&G and always put a bottle of Moet in the room so if we knew it wasn't you we would be less likely to upgrade and we would give you the Moet to take home at the end of the night instead.

Or the venue may let you have your overnight stay some point in the future.
