To think spiders are taking over the world?

Is it just me or am I correct in thinking that spiders have at least doubled in size this year? I don't mind them normally; have no problem catching them in a glass with card, but this year they have been enormous. DH has been called to the rescue several times, the latest one coming out from beneath the shower tray in the en suite. Now I'm laying in bed wondering where the rest of the spider family are... And whether I will see morning!

Whereas normally everything seems much bigger when remembered from a child's perspective, I don't recall big spiders at all. Are they growing in size exponentially and am I being unreasonable in thinking they will eventually take over the world?

Not a great post to read just before bedtimeGrin

They drink from your eye balls in the night ...

Yes - I thought it was just me being a little leisurely with the cleaning until everyone was talking about them at work.

Yorkieheaven · 12/09/2016 23:25

Yes yes.

Had a massive one in my linen basket yesterday and dh had a big one on his foot. Mind you being a drama queen he said it was an unusual spider and he googled it and thinks it was a 'false black widow spider' Grin who knows.

Lots of daddy long legs too.

Doomed I tell you doomed.

swissy56 · 12/09/2016 23:25

Yes there a lot more of them too. We swallow a fair few tho.

Yorkieheaven · 12/09/2016 23:25

Jean why just why! Grin

Finelinebetweenchaos · 12/09/2016 23:27

Totally agree!!

I have seen 4 really really big ones in our house (1 in garage, 2 in bathroom and one in the washing machine after I washed our bed sheets!!!).

We are talking about 8cm across. Horrid!

They are huge and they are everywhere. I saw one catch a sparrow in its web the other day.
