To ask if anyone can help me find a teddy..?

Hello- really hope someone can help please. I am trying to find a very specific teddy- it was sold in John Lewis and was made from sheepskin. I've found similar but it needs to be exactly the same! I've found a pic online, but none to buy. Any help gratefully received!

To ask if anyone can help me find a teddy..?

Can JL tell you the contact details of the firm which made it? Then you can ask the maker whether it is available.
Slight possibility one might turn up on e-bay.

I'm guessing he's the beloved bedtime teddy of a dc?

I would contact John Lewis. I've known of friends contacting retailers (M&S and Tesco) to find replacement teddies which haven't been stocked for years, and both times they got a replacement.

Good luck! A lost teddy is no joke!

Are these the same?

Laska5772 · 11/09/2016 17:37

Its a Flatout bear you can get them on Amazon and ebay

FasterThanASnakeAndAMongoose · 11/09/2016 17:37

Can you do one of those facebook posts where you ask the world and his wife to share it? Post it on your wall and every group you're on? There are specific John Lewis selling pages. Don't forget to make the post public.

SheepskinTeddy · 11/09/2016 17:38

Yes, there was a bit of a washing incident Blush I looked at flatout bears, but they don't look quite the same and not sure whether i would get away with it (strongly suspect not). Thanks so much for quick replies!

Present the new one (after a few washes and dries to rough him up slightly) and say Teddy's been to a spa??

Laska5772 · 11/09/2016 17:42

Shezza71 · 11/09/2016 17:42

Found it on The Toy Detectives, not available to buy but it's £35.00
Manufacturer’s reference number :
Bar code (EAN/UPC) : 28178606

SheepskinTeddy · 11/09/2016 17:43

They are brilliant, and children become very attached to them. Which is the best 'guilt' face

Oh, Shezza- going to look now!

Good luck, I had to do this recently with my 6yr old missing cat teddy from tesCo that was sold about 4 yes ago, It's been missing for weeks and I finally got a new one off eBay and ruffed it up in th washing machine with a towel to get it looking authentic. She couldn't tell at all.

FasterThanASnakeAndAMongoose · 11/09/2016 17:51

Good luck! I should warn you though... My dc1 is very attached to a particular teddy, so much so that we bought a couple of spares. One day original (quite mangy, stuffing all in his head and feet) teddy was in the washing machine and she needed him.

I produced a spare one. She wasn't fooled, but really liked him. Now we have to take BOTH of them everywhere we go! Their names have evolved into Normal and Decoy.

SheepskinTeddy · 11/09/2016 17:53

So if I contacted Flatout bear place, and gave them the Toy Detective reference they might be able to guve me the best match (if was one if theirs). I might email them anyway and ask whether they supplied JL's ones! Aw, so glad that cat toy-gate was resolved. Oh gosh, it's nearly bedtime!

SheepskinTeddy · 11/09/2016 17:57

Lol at normal and decoy 😬Grin. Sorry for typos, on my phone...brushing a congealed mass that was once a teddy.
