WWYD - Car Seat related

I've 2 boys and one on the way.

Our car seats were damaged in a house move so they need to be replaced.

New baby will be in a bucket baby seat .

My oldest is 7 years old and was in an advansafix but now seems to be too tall for the seat even though he only weighs 17kg Confused

My youngest is 4.5 years old was in a BeSafe Izi Plus but he is already around 18.5kg and is tall .

Would you invest in another ERF for the younger child ? I'm not sure I would get long use out of another ERF with his height and weight.

Or would you get both boys boosters now ?

I'm nervous about using a booster after ERF but I also can't afford to keep replacing seats if they outgrow them too quickly Smile

No I woukd go for a high back booster seat, you will need to get one soon anyway as he wont last that long in ERF.

Is your 7 year old ERF? How does he fit, isent tat uncomfortable. Get him a high back booster too.

7 year old was in a European seat with 5 point harness to 25kg but it's a bit of a squeeze for him height wise now Smile

Get him a night back booster as he's obviously a bit big for that.

Later once your baby is born and growing out the car seat get an ERF, but at the moment booster seats for both boys Smile

and a from-birth ERF for the baby when she's born.

You could get an extended rear facing and pass on to baby when they are older as there wouldn't be overlap in use. High back boosters do give them a lot of protection though, we have those as mine are just so tall rear facing when older just hasn't worked Sad

Sorry cross post, I'd say go and try them to make sure they fit in your car as which is best will depend how they fit, ours was a nightmare as a lot of them caught on the seatbelt mechanism. I like Britax seats, all of ours have been and I've been happy with them. 123 evolva has a harness for up to 18kg and a slight recline if you want so you could extend harness time for your 4.5yo that way too.

I'd get the 70 a high backed booster.
Erf t 25kg for the 4.5yo (we have the two way elite) which can then be used by the baby once they are 9mo. At which point put 4.5yo who will be almost a year older into a hub.
