35 weeks pregnant, 21 month old dd in tow and i desperately need a couple of bits. Two chest of drawers! I have already researched where they are and checked my car etc but still not sure if I'm off my rocker even considering it...

Yes. But I would say that if you weren't pregnant with a toddler. Grin

Do it! Prepare to lose your entire day though.

Hastalapasta · 08/09/2016 10:25

Be brave, get a trolley with a seat for the little one, ask for help if it is not offered. Oh, and can you pick up a few packs of napkins for me whilst you are there please? Grin

At 35 weeks pregnant you shouldn't be lugging chests of draws around!
Anyone you can bribe with meatballs to go with you?

Planty18 · 08/09/2016 10:29

If they weigh under 25kg each then delivery is only £7.50, up to a total of 100kg worth of stuff. As long as no single item is more than 25kg, I would check on their website. You might save yourself a horrific trip. If not, please get someone to lift them for you! Could you go in the evening once dc asleep or even better send someone else? Wink

It's Wednesday, schools are in, you should be fine. Make it fun, don't rush, get something in the cafe for the wee one and ask a staff member to help you with the items.

NoCapes · 08/09/2016 10:30

Yes but there won't be staff member at the other end! How will you get them in the house?

RJnomore1 · 08/09/2016 10:33

Good point...

I was assuming you could wait for a DP to come home to get them in the house op?

Beth2511 · 08/09/2016 10:38

My other half works 9am-10pm 6 days a week at the moment, and is working a 7th day for the next 3 weeks to get some extra time off once baby is here. He can easily bring them up once he gets home or before he goes in the morning its just the ikea side that i have no options for.

Have decided to drive there get some lunch and see how it goes without pushing it too much. Worst case scenario my preg belly will be satisfied with meatballs and cake!

Put your toddler into the crèche at ikea and take your time getting your bits and pieces. Put stuff in your car, collect toddler and have lunch Smile No craziness involved!

trafalgargal · 08/09/2016 11:00

Best time to go is weekday morning and use the crèche.............but personally I'd spend the £7.50 on delivery rather than meatballs.
