This is my first post on mumsnet and I don't know how to change my usernameConfused.
My mil recently moved in with us and for a while all was normal. Then she began doing yoga classes and later started doing yoga in the garden. Still all fine. Most recently she began chanting in her yoga and often wakes up very early in the morning to do her yoga in the garden. We we received complaints from neighbours but she continued to chant but this time in the kitchen. AIBU to be at the end of my tether. What can I do?!?!Confused

Is the problem that she's waking you up in the morning? How loud is the chanting???

Have you told her, and asked her not to; and pointed out that one of the yogic principles is non-violence and she is causing you pain and suffering, making her chanting very non-yogic indeed? Have you suggested another time that she could practise, or an alternative, assuming it's her home now?

Also, if this is all recent, I would be wondering if she'll just end up losing interest anyway...

is your MIL a fan of EF Benson?

Hose pipe.

Awwww poor chanting mil 😁

Can't you just say... Yoga in the garden early is fine, chanting must be done later, if necessary as the neighbours complain, and it wakes you up.

Have you said that to her?

Just tell her that the guru is taking tiffin with Lucia- that'll get rid of her.

Check the guru's cupboards for gin bottles and curry recipes before your bibelots start to vanish!!
