DS is 5 months old and has Scoliosis (curvature of the spine cord), he was born with it and I noticed it straight away with him being my third baby I knew something wasn't quite right
I raised my concerns with my GP at the 6 week check and he referred to the physio to be seen to see if it was positional or not.We now have specialist equipment in place for DS and are awaiting an x-ray to determine the extend of the curve and cause.
My grievance is that DM has a habit of interfering saying shes spotting DS back first ( its not a competition). She is now implying he isn't using his arms in particular one side in the same way. (she has hinted at SMA Spinal Muscular Atrophy which can be linked to scoliosis) He is going to be referred following x-ray by the paediatric team.
I disagree with her as I see him every day but apparently she has medical knowledge having worked in a doctors surgery as admin for 20 years . I have some medical knowledge myself as i trained as an adult nurse but i don't claim to know about paediatrics.
Shes beginning to upset myself and DH, I was in tears today after her remark. I much rather a professional doctor tell me if theres any further issues to worry not someone else not trained in the field.
She normally attends appointments as DH as Heavy goods driver but I don't want her there she interrupts when we were at the physios last.Apparently after I said this to my DF DM heard it all and is now upset sulking i love my DM but she can be hard work so I ask unbiased people aibu or is DM?
