Pond clearance and NDN.

Decided to clean out the garden pond yesterday and spent a happy time removing stagnant water and black odoriferous mud. Piled up all the very smelly mud near the pond so any stranded mini beasts could wriggle back into the pond. The pond is by NDN's fence and thought they had gone out so not too concerned. Went into the front garden to dump some garden rubbish in the wheelie bin and noticed people arriving next door for an obvious party. Cats bum faces agogo next door and glaring towards my back door before flouncing inside and slamming the back door.

So was I being unreasonable to do this? See no reason why I should have asked them if alright.

You're fine.

Don't hold your breath waiting for an invitation though!

You weren't unreasonable at all but an apology and "I thought you were out” would go some way to restoring neighbourly harmony. Assuming you are usually on good terms.

I wouldn't worry about it. If ndn told you about the party then I could see ndn point, but how would you know otherwise.

You know, if they can let stinky pond mud annoy them then that's their issue.

Maybe they always need a reason to get huffy and slam the door? Today it's you.
