To think DH should wash up (warning: trivial)

DH went to the shop. I asked him to buy teabags and dishwasher tablets as we are completely out of both. He returned without the dishwasher tablets as there weren't any on offer and he refuses to pay full price. He says he'll get some from some other shop where they are cheap tomorrow. I think he should have bought some anyway, it's only a few quid more, and as he didn't should wash up. The washing up can't really wait until tomorrow.
For background we don't have money worries and a few extra quid wouldn't be missed.
So should he wash up or am I obliged to help?

He should. Otherwise he's volunteering your labour for his decision. Not OK.

"Well enjoy the 20 mins of labour not having dishwasher tabs will give you"
