On their website news section have put that dd missed her step grades and Cambridge offer. Firstly I don't believe it was their information to share and secondly this should be valanced by the information that she got 4 a* s

Good God, what are they thinking. This is a serious breach of data protection.

Mouikey · 19/08/2016 05:56

Call and complain first thing.

JustForThisTopic · 19/08/2016 06:20

WTAF?

I'd ring as soon as the office is open. I'd expect it removed & an apology to DD - pronto.

Idiots.

Trifleorbust · 19/08/2016 06:22

That is outrageous.

Princecharlesfirstwife · 19/08/2016 06:22

Out of interest what's a step grade and how can your dd have missed her Cambridge offer if she got 4 A*s - surely you can't get any higher can you? Congrats to her anyway.

fastdaytears · 19/08/2016 06:26

This is the weirdest thing ever. Why would they do that?

I hope your DD has an amazing time wherever she goes.

Trifleorbust · 19/08/2016 06:26

STEP examinations are additional exams for particular subjects, e.g. Maths, Nat Sciences. Not all subjects, but an increasing number, will make an offer for A level results but you also need a certain grade on the STEP exam.

ChasedByBees · 19/08/2016 06:30

Shock what are they thinking?!

G t them to remove it but screenshot first. Huge breach of her confidentiality. I'd complain further up the chain too.

Waitingfordolly · 19/08/2016 06:33

That's terrible, why would they even do that? Definitely complain. I missed mine too, many years ago, and I think the school were happy to just not mention it!

chocoLit · 19/08/2016 06:36

WTAF??

Although our school publishes everyone's A level results in the local paper, which I've always thought very strange and also a breach of confidentiality / privacy.

CathFromCooberPedy · 19/08/2016 06:43

That is outrageous! I'd be fuming and someone would be getting a piece of my mind Angry

MsJamieFraser · 19/08/2016 06:44

i would screen shot it and then demand they remove

user1471552005 · 19/08/2016 06:59

What kind of school is this.

Hassled · 19/08/2016 07:01

That's really awful - your poor DD.

schbittery · 19/08/2016 07:06

Jesus 4A* isn't enough!

have you appealed to Cambridge?

anyway the school need to remove it asap, what a mean thing to do.

Ditsy4 · 19/08/2016 07:14

I think that is shocking. How to demoralise a pupil who may already be upset. I would ring school today. Staff are usually in and out in the holidays. Leave a message or email urgent failing that snail mail a letter with urgent in red on the envelope that way it will be priority. I would be very angry on my child's behalf about this.

Four A* wow that is fantastic! Where has she decided to go? Not everyone likes Cambridge anyway I know two young people that went for a visit and interview and rejected it! Both went to another Uni and thoroughly enjoyed there time. Both received a 1st. I wish her the all the best with her choice.

ChampagneTastes · 19/08/2016 07:33

Firstly congratulations to your DD - a great achievement regardless. Has she contacted Cambridge to confirm that she's not in? It's worth a shot at least. Yes contact the school and complain - it may be that the information is considered "in the public domain" but at the very least it is thoughtless and tactless to publish in this way.

Hope your DD is OK. Flowers

CreepingDogFart · 19/08/2016 07:37

This is not acceptable and at best it's a stupid mistake. Imagine if an adult applied for a job at a well-known company and the company listed all the unsuccessful candidates on their website. I hope your daughter is ok and by the way- she has done very VERY well. Congrats to her Flowers

acasualobserver · 19/08/2016 07:42

snail mail a letter with urgent in red on the envelope that way it will be priority.

This almost sounds like a Viz Top Tip.

ohlittlepea · 19/08/2016 07:47

Awful. Yanbu! !!

Bertieboo1 · 19/08/2016 16:29

This is terrible! YADDDNBU. Massive well done for the grades.

ButteredToastAndStrawberryJam · 19/08/2016 16:43

That's out of order.
I noticed on my sons school website they'd put a few names of students that had done well, I don't think there's any need for it, Not sure whether the students were asked or not Confused

ohlittlepea · 19/08/2016 16:50

Have the school responded to you?
