Children singing like adults

Friend posted a video on FB, looks likea Chinese Pop Idol type contest. Two children signing, with amazing voices. However... it freaks me out the way they do adult facial expressions and hand gestures whilst singing! Not the first time I've noticed this.

I'm probably BU as I can't figure out why it bothers me so much!

Perspicatia Amazing expressions (and voice of course!) but they still seem a bit childlike (appropriately). I find her more compelling than freaky.

I see your point - but she scares the bejezus out of me...she has a look of my DS about her.

Saw a little girl on Ellen (i think) she was channeling her Judy garland it was bloody creepy for such a young kid

My mum loves all these 11 year-old girls who belt out Whitney Houston songs. She gets really cross when I argue that they don't have the emotional maturity to understand what they're singing about and are probably ruining their voices by straining them.

It freaks me out too. Just yesterday I had a young girl singing in a queue behind me at a family event in our village and it made me really uncomfortable.

It's not just the motions and facial expressions. They have really grown up voices and lungs capable of really throwing the notes.

Properly creepy. I don't even know why.
