To think we should take the stairgates

Moving house soon - and have just realised DH wants to leave the stairgates.

I thought this was really odd and we should take them - he doesn't want to have to fill the holes. (which will be there when they take them off anyway - they have no DC as far as we know)

Who is being unreasonable please - and WWYD?

I would take them as if the buyers don't have DC they will end up at the dump most likely and the holes will be there whether you remove them or leave them for the buyers to remove!

You should take the stair gates, there will be holes anyway as you say and it is annoying when you move into somewhere and people have left stuff there, you would also have to buy new ones.

Thank you! I think that is the best way!

Are you insane? Take the gates, fill the holes sand and done.

You will regret it if you don't

You'll have to buy new ones if you leave them, the people buying the house don't want them... why would you leave them?

maddiemookins16mum · 18/08/2016 19:44

Take them, leave the holes. We left a cat flap (they saw it when viewing), and it's gone now (not that I facebooked stalked them ☺️).

GiraffesAndButterflies · 18/08/2016 19:46

Why would you care about leaving holes? I'm sure the buyers will have worked out that there will be holes when the gates come off. Our sellers left theirs and we had no DC at the time, it was no big deal.

Could you fill the holes then there would be no issue and you'd get your way?
