when i accidentally spilt red one on my friends cream carpet she poured white wine over it. it just about came out.

Do you not pour white wine on the red wine to remove the stain?

Salt works really well. You will have to take them down because it needs to be enough to coat it to about 1/2 cm. Rub it in, leave it and vac up when the salt is dry.

We didn't have white wine, so DH put them in the bath with some vanish and they have come out pristine! Phew.
